Some of my all-time favourite freeware and shareware AmigaDOS games:
Maze

Amiga PD Games (includes libraries) - Here's a collection of my favorite freeware and shareware games for the Amiga.
Most of these run too fast on an A4000/040, but should be fine on an A1200 and great on A500s and 2000s.
This set is designed to be placed in a folder on a hard drive.
If you get errors regarding missing fonts or other files, take a look at the included library, font, and c directory files in this
archive. If you're using AmigaDOS 2.x or 3.x, you can add the files that you're missing, to the matching folders (libs, fonts, c).

Most of the same games, but this time in .ADF format (for instructions on how to turn these into Amiga diskettes, see the Utilities page):

Although this is bootable, I recommend booting from Workbench first. This needs 1MB Chip RAM, minimum.

Defender - This was written to be a close match to the original arcade version. In fact, it's way better than the version that was ported to the GBA.
This works great on both OCS (A500, A2000) and AGA (A1200, A4000) Amigas.

Asteriods II - Nope, that's not a typo. This is easily one of the best versions of Asteroids ever created. In fact, it's a major enhancement on the original.
This runs best on the A3000 and A4000, and requires that you first boot from Workbench (1.x, 2.x, or 3.x).

Berzerk - Named Zerberk in this version. Very cool. Works on OCS and AGA. This requires that you first boot from Workbench (1.x, 2.x, or 3.x).

Deluxe Galaga - Easily the best version of Galaga on the Amiga. Works on OCS and AGA machines.

Deluxe Pac-Man - Another by the same author. Awesome. Designed for Amiga 500 and 3000.

Grav-Attack - One of the first -- and still my favourite -- Amiga PD game.
This is designed for the A500 and A1000, but works on the A3000 and A4000 computers too (albiet fast). This requires that you first
boot from Workbench (1.x, 2.x, or 3.x).

Knights - A wicked top-down dungeon crawler. As far as I know, this works on all Amigas. This is bootable on OCS and is best installed
to a hard drive on AGA machines. For hard drive install, copy the associated font to your Workbench Fonts folder.

Vektor - This is a really cool Light Cycle clone. It makes use of multiple scrolling screens
to create a larger playfield. Runs great on Amiga 1000s, 500s, and 2000s -- but too fast on the A4000. A1200 might be fine.

Asteroids - A version of Asteroids that matches the 1970s arcade machine. No frills this time. You'll need to boot from Workbench 1.3 or 2.0 first.
Designed for OCS Amigas. Runs fine on the A500 and A2000. It should work on the A1000, but not sure about the A1200 or A4000.

Bob's Garden - A Mr. Do clone that has had its source code released to the public for people to play with (e.g. make more levels, adjust music, graphics, controls, ...).

Transplant - This one is designed for OCS (Original Chip Set) Amigas (1000, 500, 2000). However, I think it runs on all types.
Try this game when you have company over. It makes great use of split-screen for 2-player awesomeness. Upgrades = F1 through F4.

Favorite Transplant level codes:
MQCAXNMOX
MCBAGDNCD
JVPOWCJCR
VCPSCBRWQ
YFABGMACI
WYDCDXDYA
XIDWNZESP
YLEGFQDCA

To run Transplant on an Amiga with no hard drive and two diskette drives:
- Insert Workbench diskette into DF0:
- Insert Transplant into DF1:
- Double-click Workbench icon and open a Shell
- cd df1:games
- transplant
